How my client reversed chronic constipation, started having satisfying bowel movements, + stopped taking high doses of toxic miralax.

In this Article, we will discuss steps my client took to reverse her chronic constipation! My approach with each client a holistic approach that honors the body’s natural capacity to heal.

Here are the steps we took to honor her body’s natural capacity to heal:

We Replenished Depleted Nutrients Her God Designed Body Needed to Do Its Job

Supporting our bodies natural capacity to digest and eliminate on its own is essential, but it is often overlooked + covered up with quick fixes that end up causing long term effects (like PPI drugs, miralax, or removing a gall bladder).

To do this, we:

  • Implemented a targeted nutrition plan and brought on a helpful form of Magnesium.

  • Increased her fiber in take.

  • Since she was missing a gall bladder, we replaced her bile salts (which is essential for optimal digestion, ESPECIALLY when missing a gallbladder.

We Supported Her Gut Lining + Increased Her God Designed Stomach Acid

  • We supported her gut lining with Mucilaginous herbs + stimulated her natural production of digestive enzymes + optimized her stomach acid with bitter herbs.

  • This in turn, began optimizing her God given ability to decrease inflammation, break down food + use it as fuel + eliminate toxins.

We Supported Her Posture + Motility

  • Gut motility is the God designed guts capacity to move food from the mouth through the pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, and out of the body. This is often harmed by chronic stress + nutrient depletion. We added coping strategies for chronic stress she was facing + breathing + vagus nerve techniques to add into her day. I also recommended a squatty potty to help optimize her posture when using the bathroom.

We Got Her Test Results Back + Created an Individualized Plan For Her Unique Needs

  • Before beginning together, we leveraged a GI map + blood labs that helped us create a tailored plan for her. Part of her plan involved detoxing from a place of strength after we built a strong foundation with the things I mentioned previously.

She Took Action + Had Compassionate Consistency.

  • She gave her self lots of grace + compassion along the way as she worked through emotional factors at play. She took action and she stayed consistent + did not treat her holistic approach like another “quick fix” plan. She honored the fact that there is no perfect protocol, and shifted when she needed to.
