How I age gracefully

I turn 34 years old this month, and I was recently talking to a client who is an esthetician when she asked me my thoughts on botox. She thought I had gotten botox over the years, and was surprised when I told her I’ve never had botox or fillers! I told her what I personally do instead, and she was so excited and dove right into what I shared with her.

After going through the program I recommended, she received multiple compliments on her skin, and she even began applying certain techniques on her clients. On our follow-up call, she even had a new sense of softness to her.

Here is what I shared:

I have been doing myofascial self-massage exercises daily. The program I recommend and have been using faithfully is called Beauty Fascia by Anastasia. Anastasia is a board-certified structural integration therapist, and has free tutorials you can check out on her website as well.

Myofascial massage helps reduce chronic tension in your face and neck, and the result is glowing skin. Facial massage is also very calming to the nervous system, which is a huge bonus! It even reduced my TMJ pain.

If you decide to enroll in Anastasia’s program, be sure to tell her Megan Taylor sent you because she has been giving my referrals special gifts!

If you’re not into fascia massage, here are some of my other favorite products…

Topical products I have been loving:

  • Double Cleanser: This is an oil-to-foam application with dual cleansing action. I have been using it for over 2 years and love how it makes my skin feel. It is infused with antioxidant-rich sea buckthorn, jojoba and fruit extracts. It is also non-comedogenic + contains no artificial fragances.

  • Tallow: I love this particular brand. Grass-fed tallow is nutrient dense and so nourishing for your skin.

  • Castor Oil: I apply this on my neck and in some spots as a spot treatment. I also use a castor oil pack at night to support my lymphatic system.

  • Frownies: These help to retrain your muscles. These are especially helpful if you are like me who and have a resting mean face from chronic fascial muscle tension. 😉

Products I love for aging gracefully internally:

Shilajit: Shilajit is a resin found in the Himalayas and has been used for centuries. It is rich in fulvic acid and minerals, which offers skin benefits such as hydration, improved elasticity, increased collagen production, and reduced signs of aging. I personally love this brand.

Rayvi minerals: Minerals are the spark plugs of life and help with sustained energy and stress resilience. As we age, we often end up depleted in many minerals. (Plus, these just happen to taste pretty good, too!)

Collagen: We begin losing collagen in our late 20's. Replacing it helps tremendously with gut health and joint health, and is so nourishing for our skin. My clients love this one, and some have been on it for over four years!

Is there anything you’d add to this list? Let me know in the comments! And, if you try any of these products, I would love to hear your feedback!
